My mum's birthday was the 20th so that's when dad used to buy flowers. And on their anniversary in summer.DawnTreaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04533307672147117843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3132582821010486689.post-42912617492063636412018-02-12T13:15:00.458+00:002018-02-12T13:15:00.458+00:00Sensible as always, Meike, and I agree.Sensible as always, Meike, and I agree.Frances Garroodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10614916006798375706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3132582821010486689.post-39110561433018910142018-02-11T15:58:13.140+00:002018-02-11T15:58:13.140+00:00Valentine's Day is not a grown tradition here ...Valentine's Day is not a grown tradition here in Germany, but one we have - like so many others - taken over from the U.S. during the time of so many of their military being stationed here.
When my grandparents and parents were young, courting or in the early years of their marriages, it simply wasn't done here. Things changed during my youth, but it has completely passed me by. With none of my husbands or boyfriends did I ever so much as exchange a card.
O.K. and i have the anniversary of our first date at the end of this month. That means a lot more to us.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3132582821010486689.post-54981431978021350102018-02-11T14:29:05.275+00:002018-02-11T14:29:05.275+00:00Absolutely agree, Patsy.
