LAST WEDNESDAY
The public workers go on strike
Unhappy with their lot;
With working hours, and frozen pay,
And dwindling pension pot.
But unions, like other folk,
Enjoy a bite of lunch.
In Unison, they take a sip,
In Unison, they munch.
(With thanks to Magpie Tales for the photo)
chew on current strike,
ReplyDeletepowerful and precise lines.
enjoyed it.
Well done! LOL ♥
ReplyDeletevery topical!!....very good!!
ReplyDeleteThe picture looks like strike and protest and mob, and as Jinsky says, it is topical right now.
ReplyDeleteFabulous piece, and timely.
ReplyDeleteNice one, Frances. It's a good job Clarkson wasn't writing this. Lot, pot and shot would be more his style.
ReplyDeleteWow! Loved it! The images are flawless, and capitalizing the word "unison" was a master stroke!
ReplyDeleteExcellent, Frances!
ReplyDeleteWell done, indeed!
ReplyDeleteAs i have mentioned in one post i've read, i always admire simple words. It hits me through. Hard with the limitation on the language!...like it!...
