They have been warned...
Eldest son, wife and children have just landed in the USA. This is the sign outside their first hotel. They are going on to explore Death Valley, Furnace Creek and other delights. Death Valley is the hottest place on earth. Think hire car + hottest place on earth + three kids in the back + often (apparently) no mobile signal (plus cancer risks, as above)..
I shall be awfully relieved when they get home.

Well, it's certainly not my idea of a holiday, but each to their own :-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder why the hotel is still allowed to operate at all if it really is so terribly risky...?
It sounds very dangerous. They will need a holiday when they get back.
ReplyDeleteSo will I, Adrian.
DeleteWhy?
ReplyDeleteBecause it's there, Maggie. He likes to give his children educational experiences...
Delete"Why?" was my thought as well but I see someone already beat me to it. So I guess their next holiday might be Antactica?
ReplyDeleteCould well be. One further risk is youngest son has penchant for letting lost. I'm trying not to think about it!
DeleteThat's a standard notice in many parts of the US. It just means that if you get a headache you can't sue them. Well you can (and if you are an American you probably will) but you may not win.
ReplyDeleteGuessed as much. But it's still not much of am advert for the hotel!
DeleteI believe that Wiltshire is very pleasant in August.
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be better than Death Valley, and it's certainly cool at the moment.
DeleteI was going to say something akin to Graham's comment! Just covering themselves against anything and everything.
ReplyDeleteYes. But wouldn't most people put it in the small print?
DeleteMakes me glad to be at home! I can imagine you'll be relieved to see them back, Frances, but it will certainly be a great education for them all.
ReplyDeleteRosemary, there's education and education, isn't there? But to be fair, he also takes them to art galleries and theatres so if they survive they'll be thoroughly rounded human beings!
DeleteThis is a holiday? Goodness!
ReplyDeleteApparently yes. Each to his own...
DeleteDear Mother. Having a lovely time. Wish you were here. (Dear Son. I'm fine, thanks, where I am.)
ReplyDeleteDear Fran, I couldn't agree more.
