    1. Anna, I think my trouble with the JL one is that I really dislike urban foxes.

  2. Maybe I'm just grumpy, but I really can't get excited about watching something designed solely to make me spend money.

    1. Patsy, you can be grumpy if you like. It's November, which I think is the grumpiest month.

  3. Kay ("Georgia girl with an English heart") posted this advert a while ago, so although I will never see it on telly, I've seen it and think it is really touching.
How glad I am that I don't need anything but my two feet to "come home for Christmas", with my parents only a 10-minute walk away!

    1. Meike, I don't think the Heathrow one was really trying to sell anything. After all, if you need them, you use them. You don't pop out for a quick flight, do you?

  4. I loved this ad. The music makes it though. Is it Chas and Dave? Sounds like them.

    1. Answer to your question below, Maggie. And I agree about the music making it.

  5. Hey! I noticed you had this on here and in answer to the comment above, it most certainly IS Chas & Dave! I love them.

  6. Oddly last night I was thinking that I've not seen the John Lewis ad but then I rarely watch ITV (no particular reason) where I assume they are being shown. As for advertising Heathrow I would have thought their money could be better spent.

    1. Come on, Graham! You have to admit it's rather sweet...? Much better than the JL one, anayway.

    2. Frances I've still not seen the JL one but, yes, this one is sweet. However is the airport operator there to be sweet?

  7. This is one of my favourites, Frances - but funnily enough I prefer it without the music!

  8. Just popped over from Graham's blog. This advert is so much better than the latest one by John Lewis, I must say, although as a frequent traveller, my experience at Heathrow is much less positive!

    1. Thank you for visiting and for your comment, LL Cool Joe. I quite agree about the ad - also about Heathrow (tho not as bad as Gatwick!).
