How the evening got worse (Monday evening part 2)

Phoned brother-in-law. Discovered lovely nephew has separated from wife. Must let him know how sorry I am, but don't have his email or phone number. Have idea. Facebook! Message nephew on Facebook saying I'm thinking of him etc etc. So far, so good.

Five minutes later, frantic phone call from daughter:

"MUM! DO YOU REALISE YOU'VE JUST POSTED ALL ABOUT M'S PROBLEMS ON HIS FACEBOOK WALL WHERE EVERYONE CAN SEE IT?"

Oops. Back to Facebook, and daughter talks me through deleting my message, which wasn't a message but had now morphed into a news bulletin.

Gave thanks that I have a daughter who wastes as much time on Facebook as I do blogging.

Went to bed, where I (probably) couldn't do any more harm.

  1. Uh-oh! Daughters do come in handy, don't they? :) Hope you slept well and didn't toss and turn thinking about your blip. It can happen to anyone. Have a lovely November, Frances, and try to stay out of trouble :)

  2. After your reply to my comment on your previous post I was wondering how your evening could have gone worse... now I know!
Going to bed (preferably with a good book and a glass of wine or a bar of chocolate - or both) sounds like a good strategy.

    1. Wine and chocolate on the sheets perhaps? I had an apple. Oh, and a good book (of course).

    2. I hope you brushed your teeth after the apple Frances. They are bad for your teeth you know. All that sugar.

  3. I can't do facebook either. It never seems to do what I want it to and I've come to the conclusion it's best left alone. Blogging is much safer - most of the time.

    1. Gail, aren't you supposed to be writing your novel? How far have you got?

  4. I am - and not very far. Not going so well today so I've gone AWOL and turned to browsing blogs for a break.

  5. Oh dear - reminds me of something about a friend of mine recently. Said friend was new to FB and started posting rather personal photos and messages addressed to her daughter - until the daughter (appalled) told her mum she didn't know how to use FB properly and to stop posting! Think she's learning now.

    1. I don't use Facebook much, Rosemary, and it shows! I joined Twitter, but haven't the first idea how to twit/tweet. Oh well....
