I'd love any comments/opinions on my new Website if you have a moment, please. (Currently recuperating from another gravity-assisted horse adventure, so thought I'd revisit my neglected blog....)
I like the ambience of the site though it is a little short of books. I too am recovering from injury sustained when a naughty horse squashed me against a gate. He was two thirds through it when the gate blew shut. I assumed he would rush through but no, it was a silly assumption he reared and backed off leaving me on the field side and him with all his paws waving around on the yard side. I didn't let go of his halter. I lost a finger nail and crushed a few ribs. The first cigarette of the day is still an act of bravery. Bad horse he got a dishonourable discharge from the police force for kicking a footballer. I hope you can still enjoy a roll up after your tumble.
Hello Frances, I have not been around for a while myself and therefore wasn't fully aware of how little you have been posting recently. Thank you for letting us have a look at your new website. I like it! It is neat and tidy, no unnecessary blinking, moving or noisy stuff.
Sorry to hear that you are suffering horse related injuries again. Hope you feel better soon. The website is clear and to the point! Maybe a photo of you rather than the horse though.
The images you chose for the website are beautiful. I don't know if I would buy books with a specific note to expect "Pet Funerals". I would be drawn to books including "The ebb and flow of relationships with animals" or some such variation.
I liked the website too and the fact that it has no unnecessary bells and whistles. There should definitely be a picture of you. I also like the blurbs which give a flavour of the books. I hope you are working on another book?
I wish that I had caught up with Blogland (and, in particular, this post) before we met last week. Your website description - particularly of 'Dead Ernest'- undersells the wonderful insight and the delicate humour with which they are written. Hopefully I will go to my grave still able to remember the first line of 'Dead Ernest'.
I live with my husband in Devizes in Wiltshire where I spend my time writing, reading, riding (I am the lucky owner of a beautiful horse, Blue), and keeping up with my four children and an increasing number of small grandchildren (eight so far). I was for many years a nurse and a Relate counsellor. I have taught creative writing both at a local college and a prison, and I review a wide variety of items - including books - for the Amazon Vine programme.I write to death row prisoners in America, being a life-long opponent jof the death penalty. And I spend too much time blogging..

Welcome back,Adrian! I've missed your posts. I think your horse accident sounds a lot worse than mine. I hope you recover soon.
