Rather arrogantly some might say I do not consider myself lazy at all. Unfortunately inspiration rarely visits me either. I sometimes wonder if I am just too busy for inspiration to catch up with me.
Maybe part of laziness is closing off to what's around you, losing attention. And attention and thought are what bring inspiration. Maybe the inspired person says: 'What if...?' and the lazy one just says: 'Whatever!'
I live with my husband in Devizes in Wiltshire where I spend my time writing, reading, riding (I am the lucky owner of a beautiful horse, Blue), and keeping up with my four children and an increasing number of small grandchildren (eight so far). I was for many years a nurse and a Relate counsellor. I have taught creative writing both at a local college and a prison, and I review a wide variety of items - including books - for the Amazon Vine programme.I write to death row prisoners in America, being a life-long opponent jof the death penalty. And I spend too much time blogging..

How true, Frances.
ReplyDeleteI think most writers will identify with this, Wendy!

ReplyDeleteAh, but do you seek inspiration GB? If not, you're off the hook.
DeleteNot very often Frances, I have to admit. I'm a pretty mundane sort of a chap really.

ReplyDeleteYou may have a point, BB. I think my problem isn't so much laziness as procrastination. Which is what I'm doing now....
DeletePS Loved your book!
Someone said success is 10% inspiration and 90% persperation...
ReplyDeleteThat's about the sum of it!
DeleteYep, I can relate to that. Starting with "not going swimming because...."
ReplyDeleteOh, swimming...you have to change, and get wet, and wash your hair... Lots of reasons not to go swimming!
