Bargain!

Today is the last day for purchasing Women Behaving Badly for 99p on Kindle. The link is   here .

That really is all. No more commercials for a while. I'm sure you hate reading them as much as I hate writing them. Next time, I'll write something hugely entertaining and not about my books at all. How much easier it is to advertise someone else rahter than oneself....

  1. Frances don't worry just go for it. You can write and I bet you can also do joined up letters.
I spent thirty years telling folk I was the best and every six months. It's a down side of short term contracts. Another problem is living up to the hype.
There were days when I longed to have a union and be unsackable.
Just get on with self promotion, tell fibs and pray you don't get caught. I like self confident folk. Mohammed Ali was an early role model for me. I can understand your having to choose a different one but you can still shout I AM THE GREATEST. I wasn't a boxer just a humble seaman with believe it or not a seaman's discharge book.

    1. A seamans discharge book! What can I say? Respect, Adrian!

  2. The promotion stuff isn't a lot of fun – but you're totally justified in mentioning your book on your own blog, especially as it's on offer.

  3. Go for it Frances. All of us who had a job had to promote ourselves in one way or another either directly (in job interviews) or indirectly (by making sure we were doing a good job).

  4. I know, Graham, but it's soooo hard! But thank you.

  5. Don't worry - I don't mind reading "commercials" on your blog, as to me, they are valuable information on what's new from you as a writer.
What I do not like so much is when some blogs are gradually introducing more and more obviously paid product promotions, masked as "home story" posts where the blog author "simply tells us about this or that great product they have found", and you know exactly they are being paid for it.
Some are honest enough to say it at the start of the post, others keep flooding their own blog with adverts for make-up lines, online clothing shops and so on. I have even stopped following a blog because I wasn't interested in the adverts and there were hardly any "normal" posts anymore.

  7. Most writers don't enjoy the promo, Frances, but you have to let people know about your books!

    1. Only a fellow writer understands fully how hard all this is. Thank you, Rosemary!

  8. Oh Frances, imagine my surprise as I began to read Women Behaving Badly to find I'd already read this delightful book as Basic Theology for Fallen Women! I had forgotten your earlier post explaining this. None-the-less, I enjoyed it all over again.

    1. I'm SO sorry, Jill. I've tried to warn people. But my new one (Ruth Robinson's Year of Miracles) - out in August - really is new. It's available for pre-order on Kindle now; paperback later. (Just saying...)

I have a new publisher who is re-naming some of my books and reissuing them all with lovely new covers (two of the side bar ones are already out of date, but I need to change them). Many apologies for the misunderstanding.

    2. No apology needed. Definitely my inattention. I was thinking "Ruth Robinson" and I will pre-order that today.
