Horse diaries (requested by the horse)

Titch: so you've finished that - that challenge thing?
Me: Yes
Titch: And you mentioned me?
Me: I told you I did!
Titch: Only my grandfather, though. Not me.
Me: That's near enough.
Titch: No pictures of me?
Me: I've done pictures of you!.

But Titch sighed. He was obviously disappointed. So I told me that for a limited period only, his photo could have pride of place on this blog.

Titch (pleased): Hmmm. Though I say it myself...
Me: You're always saying it. And okay. Yes. You're beautiful.
Titch: That's all right, then. Got any carrots?

Plus ca change.

    1. Titch says "what very sensible follwers you have", and I have to agree!

  4. I know nothing about horses, but he's gorgeous. Is that why he's called Titch - because he isn't little?

    1. Maggie, Titch is short for Titchfield. I call him Titchfield when I'm cross.

  5. Frances I, too, know nothing about horses, but please explain the 'peculiar' coat-cut; his legs and that patch on his back seem to be left in the natural state while his body is close-cut. Why is this?
PS...please assure Titch he is the most beautiful horse in the barn.

  6. Jill, in the winter, most horses have to be clipped as otherwise they get very sweaty when they're exercised and then lose condition. The legs are left because they don't get sweaty (and would be fiddly to clip), and the patch on the back gives extra padding for the saddle, and doesn't show when he's wearing one. I hope that helps!

  7. He does look good - must be all the carrots and, of course, his grandfather's genes.

  8. A bit of both, probably (and his own innate beauty of spirit....)

  9. Oh dear. It comes to something when I'd rather look at a picture of Titch than the bum in your last post. Frankly he's a lot more attractive. But then I think I might be put off him too if he was wearing a thong.
