A non-PC picture for the week-end

I have a disabled sister with a great sense of humour who regularly falls out of her wheechair. Because she  sent this to  me (and she found it hilarious), I'm allowed to laugh at it too (and I'm afraid I did. A lot. Because it is totally her). She says that from now on, this will "be her logo".

Having said that, I do wish she'd be a bit more careful and look where she's going. She worries us all to death.

(I did think twice about posting this in case it caused offence, but I hope it will be viewed in the spirit of the person who sent it to me.)

  1. One of the worst things about having a disability would be people always being extra careful not to upset you .
    I think it's an excellent logo if you're wheelchair-bound and think it's funny !

  2. I also think it is funny and I think you and your sister together must be a hoot.
(That is a compliment, by the way, in case you don't speak "southern". My English husband still has problems and he has been here almost 30 years!)

    1. Oh good. I was bracing myself for complaints, and nearly took this post off again!

  5. Your sister sounds like she has as big a sense of hmuor as you, Frances! And I am so fed up with stupid PCness, so it's great to laugh without feeling guilty.

    1. Thanks, Rosemary. She does tell the best disabled jokes, (not printable here!).

  6. I have never found the sort of humour where people get hurt funny. So I've been struggling to understand why I found the above very funny. It may be something to do with a picture I used to have in my office which is too complicated to explain here. It certainly has nothing to do with people being disabled because that would be far too close to home. I feel a post coming on.

  7. I think it's funny because the victim is still able to swear! If s/he were unconscious, it might be different...It's a bit like clips of people falling off/under/into things. Funny (sometimes) if the person is OK. Not at all if they're hurt.
