Popular posts

I'm always fascinated by the subjects that attract interest on this blog. Some - usually my serious ones, like the ones about Death Row - aren't popular at all, but K is for Knickers (written ages ago for an A to Z challenge) attracted hundreds of hits. However, my last  post (Pudding Post) has broke all recent records by a long way. I've no idea why.

What have been your most popular posts?

  1. Isn't it to do with people " googling" certain words? i.e. knickers, puddings, and many more common search words..often rude!

    1. Possibly, Frances. But you didn't answer my question!

    2. As Teresa said…lots of people might be googling pudding recipes, or…… maybe there is a " rude" connotation that us innocents are not aware of in the word pudding!!

  2. Nah. Its to do with Laura's platted Nutellas.

  3. My A - Z posts from a couple of years ago receive many hits, especial 'Z for the last letter of the alphabet' and a post entitled 'Flaming June'.

    1. I thin the A to Z does attract a lot of comments. But I think I've now exhausted the alphabet!

  4. It is a mystery why some posts are so much popular than others, but puddings I can understand. Most people love puddings :-) x

    1. Teresa, I think you must be right. Oh, and knickers, of course...

  5. Popularity changes weekly, but when I look at the statistics for my blog, the "all time" most popular one is "Day Three: Three Times Ripley", followed by "The Ghost Writer". Recently, the most popular post was "A Bargain!" (about the vintage green wool dress I bought in Ripon in June). That is what people type into search engines: bargain, Ripley, ghost writer... as well as knickers and pudding.

    1. I knew that if you commented, you would answer the question, Meike! Interesting post ttitles, and not obvious, either.

    1. You must have some very erudite followers, Patsy. I like new words, too.

  7. I can't answer your question as I don't have a blog, but I can say that nearly all your posts attract my attention and a comment. Down to earth subjects that we can all relate to must be the most popular.

    2. I have tried but blogger won"t let me in again. Must be doing something wrong but don't know what it is.

  8. Of course there is a big difference between hits and commenters. Google owns Blogger. Blogs are fed directly into their search engines. Which is why what Meike says happens. As to why knickers are popular I don't know unless people are trying to buy them. There may be knicker fetishists out there but if there are they are beyond my understanding.
