I have my doubts about the "giant cogs". I think Frances Garrood's original rhymes keep the world ticking, very happily I might add. Thank you for the smiles.
Good on you Frances, all you need is love!, as a certain englishman once said as he lay in bed in full public view with his beautiful young Japanese girlfriend !
I live with my husband in Devizes in Wiltshire where I spend my time writing, reading, riding (I am the lucky owner of a beautiful horse, Blue), and keeping up with my four children and an increasing number of small grandchildren (eight so far). I was for many years a nurse and a Relate counsellor. I have taught creative writing both at a local college and a prison, and I review a wide variety of items - including books - for the Amazon Vine programme.I write to death row prisoners in America, being a life-long opponent jof the death penalty. And I spend too much time blogging..

maybe love is the grease between those cogs...smiles.
ReplyDeleteA smile for a Monday morning for me!
ReplyDeleteClever. You hit the nail on the head with very few words.
ReplyDeleteSo that's what I feel when the earth moves?
ReplyDeleteWhen those giant cogs stick . . that's an earthquake, right?
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is...
ReplyDeleteAs amusing as usual, Frances. I confess to taking your quatrain and running with it.
ReplyDeleteYour Mag could NOT be more delightful!!!
ReplyDeleteI like that :-)
ReplyDeleteAmazing view point!
ReplyDeleteBut what oils the wheels, that's the question? I've a sneaking suspicion in this day and age, it might be money...
ReplyDeleteI've got my oil can!
ReplyDeleteExcellent - as usual.
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]

You made me smile. Seems most everyone else (of those I've read) had a sombre tone. Loved your playfulness!
