Are you still afraid of spiders?

Not any more, surely? This is the happy face spider, from Hawaii. That's the good news.

The bad news is that it it's facing extinction. But then, aren't we all?

  1. Wow that looks as though someone has painted it on. Does it bite?

  2. I love him. He could be useful for my WIP, which features a girl obsessed with spider facts.
    Thank you, Frances.

  3. Happy face or not, I honestly wouldn't want him (or her) crawling across my desk, or sitting in a ceiling corner above my bed.

    1. I'm sure there are no spiders in your house, Meike. With or without smiles!

    2. There aren't as many here as in my former flat (which was on the ground floor), but I do get the kind that has a tiny body and really long, thin legs. I know they are useful in keeping the mozzie population in check, but I still don't want them in my rooms...

  4. According to my research (ha!) it doesn't seem to be poisonous, so its friendly face isn't trying to lure you in, and then kill you.

  6. True - yes, Diane. But they're very, very small...

  7. I like spiders, though I wouldn't want one crawling over me. That looks like a charicature of a spider!

    1. Rosemary, I suspect its real face is somewhere underneath. But what do I know?
