Magpie 133

THE DAMAGING EFFECTS OF MARITAL DISHARMONY
"I like the colours," Enid said,
"The greys, the blues, those bits of red.
"But what's disturbing me the most's
Those figures. They resemble ghosts."

Mike disagreed, put in a bid,
And took it home for fifty quid.
He wanted his own way, and said,
"It should look great above our bed!"

This story's moral's plain to see:
It's wise that couples should agree.
For that decision changed Mike's life.
He gained a picture, but lost a wife.

(With thanks, as always, to Tess at Magpie Tales)

  10. Is it true what they say? "A happy wife, a happy life" ? I am happy, always happy when I get to visit here, with Frances on Sundays. Thanks for sharing the funny poem with the oversized title, it's so lighthearted! =D

  15. Thank you for all thee kind comments. Please forgive me if I don't reply individually, as my much-loved horse died suddenly this morning (see more recent post) and I'm not really at my best. But I do appreciate people who take the trouble to comment.
