RIP Titch

Why am I blogging sbout this? I honestly don't know. I guess my blog is a kind of outlet. Whatever.

My beloved, beautiful Titch collapsed suddenly this morning while we were out together. After a dreadfully distressing couple of hours, it was was decided that he should be put down, as his chances of survival were virtually nil. I don't know what I shall do without him. He was, quite literally the most beautify horse I have ever seen, and I was so lucky to have him. Life will never be quite the same again.

Your blog friends will all be distressed with you......I hope it helps just a little. I send you a virtual hug.

  3. I am so sorry, Frances. But you did him a mercy and that's something only someone who truly loves his companion can make.

    Take your time to grieve.

  5. So sorry, Frances.
Titch will be pain-free now, though, over the Rainbow Bridge.

  7. Hard to believe, when I saw the title of this post I tried to think of alternative reasons you would write such a title, even as I clicked and dreaded what was coming. I am so sorry. He was obviously your "heart-horse". We'll greatly miss those conversations with him that you shared with us. Horses leave such a big hole in the universe. Hugs to you.

  8. Oh, Frances, I'm so very, very sorry. I can hardly believe it. Titch was so much a part of the blogosphere. He will be missed by many, but by you more than all the rest of us put together, I know.
    Warmest thoughts,
    Kay

  15. I am so very, very sorry, Frances. The shock of such a massive loss must be impossible to cope with.
Titch would have been so comforted that you were there with him to the end.
He was the most loved horse I have ever known about.

  18. I am so sorry Frances. No words will give adequate comfort but when my darling Zoe died I imagined her chasing rabbits in a field. She loved to chase rabbits until she got too old. I'm sure wherever Titch is now he is doing something that he loves.

  19. Thanks for all the very kind comments. Please forgive no ndividual replies, but I really appreciate everyone's concern. He was hugely special, and I just wish his ending had been less traumatic. He had developed a sudden clot in a main artery - the worst the vet had ever seen - and it couldn't have been foreseen or prevented. It was awful, but I'm glad I was with him when he died. I'm now trying rather unsuccessfully to pull myself together...

  25. Once more, my thanks. You have all been so kind. I'm still trying to come to terms with it. His last couple of hours were so awful, and I can't get them out of my mind. But I guess I will. In time.
