Last year, I posted about having to wear boots in June. Well, this year, it's even worse:
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.
Never thought I'd ever see the day
When I would wear
A vest in May.
Suddenly, weather's not the way it used to be;
There's a raincloud hanging over me
And I am wearing a
A vest in May.
( I'm sure the Beatles will forgive me.)

Francis...'Never cast a clout till May is out.'
ReplyDeleteIt's the putting back of clouts that upsets me, Adrian.
DeleteMy husband has just asked me..."What are you singing!"
ReplyDeleteI've been doing it too, Wendy!
DeleteJust a few days ago, when I felt so sick & tired of my padded winter coat but knew I still needed it, I happened to come across one of my own blog posts from May 2012 and found that it had been way too cold for my liking back then, too.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this year won't be a repeat of "summer" 2012.
Over here, we had summer th Monday before last, Meike!
DeleteI'm sure the Beatles will forgive you. We are having up and down weather here in southeastern Alberta. It's been cold, and it's been hot, and it's warm, and windy (scary windy) and the forecasts that say rain are all wrong.
ReplyDeleteI always say "whether there's weather, or whether there's not..."
K
Very philosophical of you, Kay!
Delete'Changeable' certainly describes the weather this spring.
ReplyDeleteMore like 'horrible' here, Patsy.
DeleteHey! We had freezing temps over the weekend but the warming trend has begun (70s today) and I'm sure it's coming your way.
ReplyDeleteOh lucky you, Yvonne!
DeleteLove it, Frances - your song, not the weather! I had to get my thick dog-walking jacket out again and it should be hanging up gathering dust by now! x
ReplyDeleteYou can get coats specially for thick dogs? yay!
DeleteNow now, Clare. Teresa's a good mate!
DeleteBrilliant! Says it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks, CC!
DeleteLove it! It's right up there with that other seminal Beatles track: Hey, you've got to hide the Chardonnay!
ReplyDeleteWhy hide the Chardonnay? Get it out, I say!
DeleteOh - I get it now. I blame anno domini! Very witty!
DeletePerfect sentiments - the sun brightened me up in every way this morning and now it's back to cold and rain. Weird everywhere.
ReplyDeleteWeird and depressing, Rosemary.
DeleteTrying to be positive - I would much rather wear my winter wardrobe, especially as I get older and more wrinkles appear. My feet are much cosier in socks and comfortable shoes. Now, the sun is bound to come out!

DeleteYou can't be THAT old, Maggie!
DeleteWhy she had to wear her vest she wouldn’t say
ReplyDeleteI said it’s too cold to divest your vest this May
Sorry Frances, couldn't resist it.
(And I loved 'Hey, You've Got to Hide the Chardonnay')
Oh, very good, Valance!
DeleteIt's now June and I'm still wearing heavy clothes. In fact yesterday in the garden on a day with hardly a cloud to be seen I was wearing heavy trousers and a heavy bodywarmer because the North Easterly force 5 wind was so bitterly cold. Summer? Hmmm.
