What's up with the first one? It does display a lack of confidence as you spent as long writing DOG as you did sketching it. It's likely to be a bitch from your drawing.
The second is excellent but she cheated and didn't use a magic marker.
Had it not been for the wagging tail, yours could have been a cat with very large ears or a fox with a very small tail. But it's a dog - and some dogs DO look like that! Your granddaughter used photoshop to make a photograph look like a painting, didn't she! (No, of course she didn't. You wouldn't have showed it to us in that case. She really is VERY good, and I'd like to see more of her pictures.)
Perhaps you should have tried to draw a horse rather than a cat, er dog. Your granddaughter on the other hand shows considerable talent. I should add that I couldn't even match your cat er.. dog.
Different kinds of art! Seriously, your granddaughter is very good. My son teaches art and design and daughter is also creative - they both drew and painted from an early age.
I live with my husband in Devizes in Wiltshire where I spend my time writing, reading, riding (I am the lucky owner of a beautiful horse, Blue), and keeping up with my four children and an increasing number of small grandchildren (eight so far). I was for many years a nurse and a Relate counsellor. I have taught creative writing both at a local college and a prison, and I review a wide variety of items - including books - for the Amazon Vine programme.I write to death row prisoners in America, being a life-long opponent jof the death penalty. And I spend too much time blogging..

Well you can see yours is a dog and it is wagging its tail, but I have to agree your granddaughter's is very very good. What a talented young lady x
ReplyDeleteJust the sort of nice, kind comment I've come to expect. Thank you, Teresa.
