Two records broken

I broke two records last last week:

1. I had two letters published in The Times* in less than three weeks.  (I don't usually blow my own trumpet, but this is such a small trumpet, I thought I'd give it a quick puff.)

2. I posted my least popular post ever. Sigh.

*Serious ones, too. I usually write silly silly ones as I don't have the right kind of brain for Big Issues and Politics.

  1. Have the Guiness Book people rung yet? ;-)

    Congratulations on # 1!
As for # 2 - well, it said that it was especially for Daisy. Since I am not Daisy, I did not feel this was directed at me (although I must admit I did click the video and listened to the very beautiful music for a while) and therefore left no comment.

    1. Meike, I don't think Daisy enjoyed it as much as you did, sadly.

    1. Nursing, and the US's silence on the subject of refugees (they are our allies, and they have both space and funds to take some refugees).

    1. Well, you can spell "congratulations", Adrian. That's a start (though it would be a rather short letter).

    1. Never mind, Z. I've explained the subjects in my reply to Maggie (above), but don't think I'd better bore you with entire letters!

  5. My score to date is ONE, and that was about 30 years ago.

  6. I opened another window to carry on reading blogs, whilst also listening to the music. Not a piece I know, but very enjoyable. What were your letters about?

    1. Nursing and refugees, Frances. Not terribly interesting! But writing to The Times is a displacement activity when I'm stuck on my novel. I recommend it.

    1. I'm not sure about trumpet-blowing, Teresa, but you're very kind. Mind you, if I were short-listed for the Booker, I might just mention it (that's a safe thing to say!).

  9. Well done. I had two letters in The Times many years ago: one on the subject of bank robbers (frivolous) and one on VAT on tips (serious). I wonder if I can find yours.

As for your least popular post it was very popular with me! I wonder what that says.
