Let me introduce you to....

.... my mad sister. She's had a difficult life, being handicapped from birth, but has overcome all kinds of problems to become an actress, a writer, a wife and a mother of two amazing girls. Although by then confined to a wheelchair, she managed to nurse her husband at home until his death eight years ago.  She now lives in sheltered accomodation, and while she has lots of friends, life can be lonely. I've been trying to persuade her to join the blogosphere for some time, as it means she might come across new people.  So....please visit her blog if you have a moment. I know she'd appreciate it.

  1. Yes, I've popped across to see her and am sure she will fit into Blogland with no trouble. She has a shower everyday. That's a little worrying.

  2. Reading about what your sister had and has to cope with, any annoying stuff happening to people like me shrink to insignificance. I'll pop over, too.

  6. Thanks to all who have responded and visited her blog. She has had a blog for some time, but lost heart over it. I've persuaded her to take it up again, as it's a fun way to get in touch with new people, and doesn't involve going out in her terrifying buggy-thing!

  7. Thanks, Frances. I'll do my best to keep it going, even if it's just a few words a day

  8. Thank. you all. Librarian, the little annoying things can feel like the end of the world. I don't really think about being badly off. The more people I meet, the more I'm glad I'm me. I don't think life was ever meant to be "a walk in the park" for anyone

  9. "Walk in the park"? You wish!

For anyone gaping open mouthed, that 'mad sister' is my 'mad mother', so I'm allowed to say such things. Frances may be a pessimist, I feel I am an optimist (mum calls me Pollyanna with a roll of her eyes on many occasions) and my mother I reckon is a healthy mix of the two. Depending on the day of the week. Sunday's are a day of rest , so naturally all looks rather good on those days.....!
