Dreams and sandwiches
Graham has posted on his blog about his dreams, and this set me thinking about mine. Last night I dreamt I was making lamb and red currant jelly sandwiches (not something I've ever made, I might add). What did you dream about last night (no cheating)? I know I've posted about this before, and asked the same question, but dreams fascinate me.

Dreams fascinate me, too, but I'm afraid I can not recall any from last night. In fact, I currently seem to be in a "no dreams" phase. I know I do dream - I just can not remember them.
ReplyDeleteYears ago, I dreamt I was smoking. (I have never smoked in my life, not even tried it.) When I woke up, I truly had the taste of a cigarette in my mouth. Not very nice! (Nobody had been smoking in my bedroom.)
How interesting about the smoking. Similarly, I have never flown, but I know exactly how it feels to fly suddenly downwards because of my dreams. Previous life?
DeleteI have dreams where I haven't done something I should have. They're often things such as such as calling my kids or feeding the cat, which in reality I don't have to do (as I have no kids or cat) but I still feel bad about it for a while after I've woken up.
ReplyDeleteDoes the anxiety reflect your waking anxiety, Patsy? I know my dream anxieties are all based on reality.
DeleteI can't remember my dreams from last night although I do remember waking up at four in the morning and knowing I had had one. So it fascinates me just as much as why they can so easily disappear from our memory on waking. I've listened to some interpretation of dreams on the radio and it does make sense that the dreams are your mind's way of sorting things out or trying to tell you what you want. How that equates to lamb and redcurrent jelly sandwiches though is anyone's guess. Maybe the dream is telling you to try something new - although not necessarily lamb!

Linda, I think quite often, in order to remember a dream, you have to catch it by its coat tails immediately you wake and before it vanishes!
DeleteI may have dreamt. In fact I probably did dream but I don't recall anything. It is rare that I ever remember a dream. They slip away like shadows/
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame! I think remembering dreams can be so interesting. Though admittedly some are more interesting than others....
DeleteAs you know many of my dreams scare the living daylights out of me. However it is a curious fact that since I was in hospital the number of dreams has fallen dramatically and I cannot recall details of any unpleasant ones. Life can be very strange.
