What about this one, then?

I take the points my followers made about my last post. I think I probably over-reacted. Thank you for putting me right. But please, please tell me you agree about the above (Wonga) advertisement, which you have probably seen on TV. I really thought this one was the pits, and that's probably why I was so incensed about the other.

Sorry.

  3. Couldn't really care less about the advert, but all these crazy TV loan sharks make me mad. I believe the guy who runs Wonga makes a FORTUNE..... Who are these people who are prepared to pay ludicrous rates of interest; I certainly couldn't!

  4. It's not on German telly, so I don't know what it is all about. Of course I could look it up on youtube, but I simply take your word for it, Frances, that it is the pits.

  6. Yes the advert is belittling and patronising and the company is the pits. I agree.

    1. Graham, i believe they've now had their come -uppance (at least as regards their practice, if not their adverts).

  7. Adverts really are wasted on me because although I remember the advert, I rarely remember what it is for. I've always thought this one silly, although until Cro mentioned it, I had forgotten it was about loans. But, yes I agree, any company that plays on the minds of vulnerable people is the pits.

  8. I have no idea what that's about. And I certainly can't tell from the image!

    1. It's a particularly unpleasant loan company, DT.

  9. Wonga is revolting so pretty well anything they do is likely to be offensive to me. I suppose they were trying to worry old people. I did see the ad on the tube but didn't bother to read it at the time.
