Dead Ernest lives again

This is the new cover for Dead Ernest, which is being re-issued in the new year by Sapere Books. I think it's much better than the old one, except that Ernest would probably  have cleaned his boots. But you can't win 'em all, and I really love it. (.And Ernest's still dead, so he can't complain.)

  1. I detest new covers on books I have read. It is a good read but not in the two read category. I want a new read at about four hundred pages please miss.

    1. Polite, as ever, Adrian. And yes. There are a couple of new ones in the pipeline, but it's a long pipeline....They are, however, more or less finished.

  2. I don't remember the old cover because somehow, when one reads on Kindle, the cover doesn't stick in one's memory the same way that books in one's physical bookshelves do...

    1. I think that's why this one's an improvement, DT. It's simpler and clearer.

  3. Like Monica says, I didn't remember the old cover - until I scrolled a bit further down and saw it on your blog's side bar. I did remember that it also showed a pair of wellies!

You said in reply to Adrian's comment that there are a couple of new books more or less finished - YAY!!!

    1. You're very kind, Meike! One is being edited, and the other...well. We shall see. It's a rather grisly murder, very different from my other books. I don't yet know whether anyone will accept it...

    1. Sadly not, Maggie. Sapere are a digital and print on demand publisher, so it would have to be ordered from Amazon. But I do have some copies of the old editor iif you're interested? My email is on the side bar.

  8. One of the best first lines EVER! A book I thoroughly enjoyed (as I did your other two books). This is my first foray into Blogland for a while given that I've been hors de combat. It's cheered me up no end.
