And talking of wasting time...

...which I was (talking about it, that is), I spent a large part of the weekend with my  youngest grandson (left) throwing sticks into a stream. Sort of Pooh Sticks without the bridge. Not a waste of time, though, because he thought it was the greatest fun. Plus, I managed to prevent him from throwing himself in with the sticks, so I did a Good Thing.

  2. There's nothing like a spot of Pooh-sticking with grandchildren for keeping you young! It's a favourite with my two youngest when they come to stay.

  3. You are not wasting time, you are spending time. Procrastination is my thief of time, but writing, reading, walking, gardening and spending time with friends and family is life enriching.

  4. Wasting time? The only time I see wasted is by those in front of the boob tube or playing idiotic video games. We would all be better off if more time were spent day dreaming and thinking quiet thoughts and getting to know ourselves. Your grandson is adorable.

  5. One thing has to be for sure - your little grandson didn't think his time was being wasted!
Will be remember that time with you at the weekend when he himself is a grandparent? I shouldn't be in the least surprised!

  6. I was going to say "But Frances you could have been teaching him to read...." but someone would be bound to take me seriously.

You know that I'm of the view that it's very hard to waste time if what you are doing is making you happy. I do wonder about people who spend hours in front of the box though.

Chasing Pooh Sticks is Really Good Fun. I'm glad that you, too, have read 1066 And All That: one of my favourite books.

And what a beautiful picture. I love the sun on his hair and his rapt expression.
