George's homework

The above is my 10-year-old grandson's recent  maths homework. That boy will go far, (If you can't read the teacher's comment, it is "this is not necessary, George". Hm.)

  1. How dare he actually WRITE something that conveyed how he felt. Doesn't he know yet that schools only want to turn out robots?

    1. I know, Kay. But if she was going to criticise, she could have had a go at his grammar/spelling!

  2. Naughty boy. Adding to the stress of overworked child minders. I have heard that some have to work a thirty week year or was it sixty weeks? Yet to meet a teacher who was any good at anything.

    1. Adrian, I was married to a headmaster, and the stress (he was a perfectionist)eventually killed him. So I'm afraid I can't agree with you. Maybe you've only met the lazy ones?

  3. My maths teachers never had reason to write "well done" under my homework... most of the time, I didn't even do my homework.

    1. Meike, you surprise me! How did you get away with it?

  4. I have always resented teachers who try to squash creativity. Music isn't "necessary" either, or art, or poetry, or travel, or any of the myriad lovely things that make this world enjoyable. And yet, they ARE necessary - if you want to expand your horizons and learn about life.

    1. Mrs.S, I hope she saw the funny side. If not, she shouldn't be teaching!
