THE END OF AN ERA
He's ready for a change now
And goes by the name of Mike.
He travels in a phone box
And occasionally by bike.
So if you see him drifting by
Up in the sky near you,
Please raise your glass and drink a toast:
"Goodbye to Dr. Who!"
(With thanks to Tess at Magpie Tales)

travels in a phone box? That's new. Fun poem though.ReplyDelete
A most excellent image.ReplyDelete
We should all get to travel that way!
I agree this is fun and new to me too...ReplyDelete
Looks like he's gone enviromentally friendly (don't know what powers the TARDIS though - maybe that was green too?)ReplyDelete
Come back Doctor, come back!ReplyDelete
Aww, shucks - here's to you anyway, 'Cheers!'
hahaha - love it!
We were on the same track. I enjoyed yours.ReplyDelete
... my kind of time travel! Great Mag.ReplyDelete
That's what was needed, a touch of the surreal...ReplyDelete
lol.....goodbye to Dr.Who indeed....(now David Tennant's gone!)ReplyDelete
Brilliant! I loved the surprise reveal. Great rhythm and rhyme scheme, Frances. Thank you for sharing this.ReplyDelete

Enjoyed this, good work…ReplyDelete
Image & Verse
Oh, Frances! You're on a roll! I love the first stanza. I truly miss the old phone booths where people had their conversations in private and we didn't have to listen in.ReplyDelete
I love that you got Dr. Who in this!!! You rock!ReplyDelete
Cool travel riff ...ReplyDelete
Now that's a new idea for Dr Who!ReplyDelete
Dr Who will be after your blood! LOLReplyDelete
He seems to lead a perfect sci-fi life..wait for me!!ReplyDelete
Super little poem!ReplyDelete
Re: verification word
Go to your main page, click "Design", then click "Settings" and on the second line you'll see "comments" and click that. Near the bottom of that page you'll see "word verification" on or off.
Hope this helps.
I would love to see him drifting by...ReplyDelete
Good to know we can always come here for a chuckle.ReplyDelete
WV's. I find that Kay's advice applies only if you are using the "old style" blogger dashboard. I have hunted high and low on the "new" and can't find how to turn these wretched inkblots off. I sent "feedback" to Blogger complaining about them but no doubt I might as well cry in the wilderness. Frances knows I'm not a robot . . looks like "ronzone" and October. Here goes
By now you have learned you need to be using the old style version of Blogger .. it's worth switching back, I promise.ReplyDelete
are the two words
(I THINK) I must enter her - I'll know soon enough if I'm right!
Thanks, eveyrone, and thanks too for the blogger advice. I don't know who invented all these ink blots but they are infuriating and quite unnecessary. After all, a robot wouln't be able to decipher the old VWs, so why make them even worse?ReplyDelete
i met someone like him, very memorable in his ways.ReplyDelete
Love the rhythm and rhyme of your pieces...always read them out loud...ReplyDelete
